Qld: Motorcyclist killed, another caught 100kph over
A motorcyclist has died and another has been caught speeding almost 100 kilometres
an hour over the speed limit within an hour of each other .. on Queensland roads.
Police say a 34-year-old Palm Beach man died on the Gold Coast yesterday when he lost
control of his motorcycle on a corner .. crashed into a gutter and was thrown from his
bike about 5 pm (AEST).
Ambulance officers attempted to revive him at the scene at the corner of West Burleigh
Road and Stanley Street in Palm Beach .. but he died from his injuries.
Meanwhile .. a 31-year-old motorcyclist has been caught travelling at 168 kilometres
an hour in a 70 K-zone at Carindale .. south of Brisbane .. about 4pm (AEST) yesterday.
Police say he'd been racing a Holden Commodore through traffic along Old Cleveland Road.
He's been fined and will lose his license.
