DARWIN, Dec 13 AAP - A new summons has been issued for a tour guide charged over aGerman tourist's death in a crocodile attack in Kakadu National Park to appear in court.

Glenn Bernard Robless, 46, of Rapid Creek, was due to face Darwin Magistrates Courttoday but Crown Prosecutor Glenn Dooley said police had not been able to serve the earliersummons.

Mr Robless was to face a charge of dangerous omission causing death following a crocodileattack that killed 24-year-old Isabel von Jordan on October 22 at Sandy Billabong in KakaduNational Park.

Magistrate David Loadman today ordered a fresh summons be served on Mr Robless.

He is expected to appear in court next week.

Police said last month it was alleged the guide, who has taken tourists into Kakadufor the past 13 years, was drunk when Ms von Jordan was killed by a 4.2-metre croc onOctober 22.

Ms von Jordan was among nine European tourists taking a late-night dip in a billabongsignposted with croc warnings.

Her 21-year-old sister, Valerie, felt the croc bump her and heard her sister scream.

Both had been in Kuta at the time of the Bali bombings and had travelled to Darwinto visit an injured friend who had been airlifted there.

The sisters had danced in the Sari Club an hour before it was destroyed.

The tour through Kakadu World Heritage-listed wetlands was to be an escape from thehorror that they had experienced in Bali, a friend said.

Valerie told investigators the guide had assured the group it was safe to swim in SandyCreek Billabong despite the warning signs.

Rangers found eight saltwater crocs in the Billabong before they retrieved the victim's body.
