OBITUARIES: SEKHARIPURAM V. VENKATESWARAN 1926-2005

Sekharipuram Venkateswaran, professor emeritus of atmospheric and oceanic science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), died after a long illness on 14 February 2005 in Northridge, California, at the age of 79. Over his long career at UCLA, he developed an international reputation as a research scientist. He was also an outstanding teacher and scholar with a passion for knowledge, a well-loved advisor, and an esteemed colleague truly dedicated to the advancement of science.
