HECTIC modern lifestyles are preventing women from spending thequality time they would like to with their mothers, a study hasfound.
The poll to coincide with Mother's Day this Sunday found thatmore than one-third of those questioned (36.1%) felt that, asidefrom their husband or partner, their mother made the best travelcompanion.
The figure rose to almost half (48.9%) among the 25 to 34 age-group. However, little more than 1% of those polled for internetholiday firm Thelma & Louise said they preferred to travel withtheir father.
While the survey revealed almost one-third of women (28.2%)holiday with their mother at least once a year, 71.3% said theywould like to travel more than they do now, citing their sense ofhumour and company as the reasons.
Of those questioned, 61.3% blamed lack of time due to a hecticlifestyle for stopping them.
"The mother-daughter bond is very special and there's nothingmore precious than the gift of time with your loved ones," saidThelma & Louise co-founder Christine Davies, who used to work on theBBC Holiday programme.
